The Humane Society of Jefferson County, here in Port Townsend has some wonderful cat and dogs looking for homes this week. Since I photographed, and create this poster on Sunday, Mickey has been adopted.
I'm so in love with Sadie. This sweet four year old has been at the shelter for a bit. She so deserves a new home and a person to snuggle with and a lap to sit on and purr. She has quite the purr and is very affectionate and would be make a wonderful companion, I'm just afraid my two dogs would not agree.

Here is this weeks handsome group of animals looking for a new home. Our local shelter is the Humane Society of Jefferson County here in Port Townsend, WA. I volunteer there weekly to go out and photograph new arrivals and create this poster that is posted around the community. These images also appear in the Animal Angel Ad in the Port Townsend Leader. The weekly ad is supported by The Leader and Lori Lanza who owns Lanza's Ristorante here in Port Townsend.

This attractive young gray tabby needs a home. He is really playful and loves attention. Last week he posed for me for a variety of different shots-full body, back lit, side profile and even upside down. What a ham in front of the camera. Today was my day to volunteer by photographing all our animals that are currently available for adoption. I was on the floor in the cat room today when Ben leaped up on my one knee to check out my camera, I actually think he was fascinated by the noise my flash made as it recharged. Anyone of our dogs would make a wonderful addition to your family. I could easily take anyone of them home but my dogs Ruby and Max might not want to share their fenced yard. Last Sunday it was raining so this week all the dogs came out for new updated photos. They all did a great job posing as they lifted their noses to smell something unique in the air around the Shelter this morning. Cash did the cutest thing with her ears almost creating a Yoda look. Here is this week's poster of animals I photographed at the Jefferson County Aninmal Shelter on Sunday. I had accidently forgot to post a photo last week of the lovely cat named Sasha so here she is this week. We are fortunate to have only a couple dogs this weeks and both are young. Jasper is a 5 month old rat terrier and Shiloh is a 10 month old Lab/Retriever/Hound mix. He has the biggest hound dog eyes and seems to be all legs with lots of energy.

On Sunday I went to the JC Animal Shelter to photograph the newest animals available for adoption at the shelter. I was amazed to find that we had six animals adopted since last week including Calvin who had been at the shelter for over a month. Special thanks to Dr. Ginny Johnson for her help in getting Bailey adopted from her Hadlock Veterinary Clinic.
Right now we have the sweetest dog named Tommy who is looking for a new home. Tommy would make a great family dog as he loves to play fetch and go for walks. If I wasn't allergic to cats little Ms. Fluffy would be here at home in my lap right now. What a beauty she is. Corky is another cat we currently have who is incredibly affectionate and would make anyone a lovely companion. One of the newest dogs we have is Foxy who so reminds me of my dog Max. Foxy is a small, six year old Corgi/Cocker Spaniel mix with lots of personality. I don't think I have ever seen this breed at the shelter before but right now we have little Brutus an 8 month old Miniature Pinscher/Daschshund puppy.
