Port Townsend Seniors Looking for Something More Than Just a Print?

Some of the popular products I offer to everyone who uses Deja View Photography  These products are especially popular with Chimacum and Port Townsend Seniors. On the top of the desk are three 5x7 canvas prints which are unique in that with their protective coating no frame is required and they can sit on a desk or hang on the wall. To the left of those are fun little "brag book" that hold 10 images from a session. They fit perfect in a purse and are easy to carry to show family and friends your images.

On the lower section of my desk you can see thin wraps displayed. These products are also great in that they do not require a frame and with their backing actually float off the wall instead of laying flat. I also offer custom designed albums perfect for any type of session whether a family or Senior session.

Port Townsend Main Street Girls' Night Out Raises Over $6000

Last Thursday Port Townsend businesses hosted hundreds of women having fun shopping at Port Townsend Main Street’s “Girls’ Night Out” held October 2nd. This year’s theme was“Gatsby Glitz” and over 40 participating businesses offered special events, in-store promotions and refreshments from 11-8 pm. The evening ended with a “Wrap” party at The Belmont which featured a no-host bar, appetizers, desserts, and door/raffle prizes.

Goodie bags and raffle tickets have been on sale since Sept. 30th. Proceeds will benefit Jefferson County Public’s Health Breast and Cervical Cancer Program and the Port Townsend Main Street Program, a 501c3 nonprofit. To date, Port Townsend Main Street’s Girls’ Night Out event has raised $26,800 to assist women in need to received cancer screenings. This event is sponsored by the Port Townsend Main Street Program, Jefferson Healthcare, OZONE Socks and generous participating businesses. I talked to Main Street today and I think they exceeded their goal from last year and raised over $6000. I very proud to have been part of raising money for such a worthy cause.

Each goodie bag contained a coupon book with hundreds of dollars in savings donated by local businesses. Deja View Photography has a coupon for $25 off any print order purchased after booking a session with my Port Townsend studio. My studio also donated a raffle prize of a complementary studio session with an 8x10 print and an image to share on Facebook. The winner of the raffle was picked today, I look forward to hearing from them and photographing them.

Bursting at the Seams with Kittens, Cats & Dogs

www.dejasphotos.com
This week the Port Townsend shelter has several small dogs available for adoption. Both Doogie and May are sweet dogs and so deserving of a new home as is Glitzy the cat. Glitzy just hasn't met the perfect person yet. She has been at the shelter for several months and would love to find a loving family to adopt her. If you are interested in adopting any of these sweet cats or dogs you can visit the Humane Society of Jefferson County Tuesday-Saturday from 12-5 or reach them here in Port Townsend, Washington at (360) 385-2662.

Last weekend I bumped into several people at the Port Townsend Film Festival who were surprised to learn I photograph people, they assumed since they had seen the Animal Angel Ad in the paper every week that I only photographed animals. To see more of my work on my website you can visit Deja View Photography

Port Townsend Leader Photo Contest

Please check out the great images submitted in the 2014 Through the Lens Photo Contest in this weeks Port Townsend Leader. Deja View Photography  was one of the sponsors for the contest. You can vote either online or use the form on the page with the photo entries, deadline is September 18th.

Angela, a recent client, gave me permission to use this fun image from a photo session she had at my Port Townsend studio. She needed images to use for an invitation to announce her QuinceaƱera that I will be photographing in February. It is wonderful working with her, and her Mom, and I can't wait to document this special celebration for them in the spring.

Thinking of Adopting? Now is the Perfect Time to Adopt from the Humane Society of Jefferson County.

www.dejasphotos.com
I wish I could adopt everyone of these cats and dogs but I just can't do that. Instead I volunteer at my local shelter, here in Port Townsend, every week photographing the animals. Usually a volunteer who is walking the dogs brings them out for a quick photograph or I hang out in the cat room waiting for the perfect photo. Having only a couple minutes for each animal I strive to catch that certain look that will help them get adopted like a tilt of the head like I got from Karl or a smile from Louie the puppy.

You can visit the Humane Society of Jefferson County Tuesday-Sunday or call them at 385-3292.

Keep Deja View Photography in mind if you would like to contact me about taking photographs of your own pet. I have a portrait studio here in Port Townsend, perfect for a pet session or I can come to your home where your pet may be more at ease to be photographed. I'm blessed to have two wonderful dogs as my companions. Knowing how our pets are such an important part of our families it seems only natural that you would want to photograph them, or you with them, documenting your special relationship. You can reach me at 360 385-2662.

What a joy to photograph this engagement session with Martin and Charlotte on a farm located on Marrowstone Island only about a 20 minute drive from Port Townsend. Martin is the manage for the Twin Vista Ranch and this will be there home together after they are married in August.

The light was amazing the evening I took these images. They so much fun to photograph and we all agreed the animals should be included in the session along with the farm's pigs.

Port Townsend High School Senior Session

These are the images I used to create a beautiful 8x8 photo album for this Port Townsend High School Senior from her Senior sessions. The ten page/twenty sided lay flat album has all the images printed on beautiful pearl paper with a chocolate cover.

2014 Rhody Parade in Port Townsend

I have been photographing Memorial Day and Veterans Day in Port Townsend for about the last eight years. This year I caught some of my favorite images of members of the American Legion, Marvin Shields Memorial Post 26 in the Port Townsend Rhody Parade and them on Memorial Day.
