6-1 Animals Available for Adoption at the JC Animal Shelter

We had lots of adoptions from the Animal Shelter last week. This Sunday I went out and photographed several new dogs including the handsome puppy named Ferris. Sandy, beautiful MJ and little Mikey are also new this week at the shelter. We had several cats adopted last week and Miss Kitty arrived this week. Sweet Corky is an adorable adult cat who has been at the shelter for a couple months now. She is a really nice cat and deserves to find a new home away from the shelter. Please consider stopping by the shelter and spending some time with Corky, she is an affectionate cat would make a nice addition to any family.

Animals Available for Adoption at Jefferson County Animal Shelter 5-24

I was excited to learn that several of our animals from last week were adopted. Sweet Tommy and Brutus the dog were adopted along with little Shelby, a young cat.  Amy, another volunteer at the Jefferson County Animal Shelter, helped me by handling the dogs as I photographed them on Sunday.  I especially loved the posed image of Beth and shy Dora. Meeka, the Catahoula Leopard Dog really turned her head to watch me as I photographed her. Corky is a really sweet cat that deserves to find a new home.

Please give the JCA Shelter a call (360) 385-3292 to check on updates for animals that have been adopted since I created this poster. Contact me at  Deja View Photography at (360) 385-2662 if you would like to schedule an appointment for me to photograph your family pet.

Portrait Session with Baby Lea

What a wonderful time I had on Sunday photographing ten month Lea in my Port Townsend studio. Lea's parents were very helpful getting her to pose. For lighting I used my Wescott Spider lights with a little extra ambient window light. Lea was very patient waiting for me to get just the right pose but when she decided enough was enough she headed off the background paper at a fast crawl. I can't wait to have her back in the studio when she celebrates her first birthday.

For the second photograph I borrowed the little chair from a friend. It turned out Lea's shoes matched perfectly with the color and design in the chair. Despite a little tumble while leaning on it the first time she bravely got back up for this great image.

Animals Available for Adoption at Jefferson County Animal Shelter 5-17

On Sunday I went to the JC Animal Shelter to photograph the newest animals available for adoption at the shelter. I was amazed to find that we had six animals adopted since last week including Calvin who had been at the shelter for over a month. Special thanks to Dr. Ginny Johnson for her help in getting Bailey adopted from her Hadlock Veterinary Clinic.

Right now we have the sweetest dog named Tommy who is looking for a new home. Tommy would make a great family dog as he loves to play fetch and go for walks. If I wasn't allergic to cats little Ms. Fluffy would be here at home in my lap right now. What a beauty she is. Corky is another cat we currently have who is incredibly affectionate and would make anyone a lovely companion. One of the newest dogs we have is Foxy who so reminds me of my dog Max. Foxy is a small, six year old Corgi/Cocker Spaniel mix with lots of personality. I don't think I have ever seen this breed at the shelter before but right now we have little Brutus an 8 month old Miniature Pinscher/Daschshund puppy.

Call the Jefferson County Animal Shelter to check on the availability of any of the animals shown in the poster/video above. (360) 385-3292.

Port Townsend Senior Portrait

The weather was perfect on Saturday morning for a portrait session out at Fort Worden State Park. Breanna had come to my Port Townsend studio in January for a session but we had planned to get another series of images outside once the weather cooperated. Breanna wanted to be photographed at the Fort and the light was just perfect that morning. The variety of colors in the walls of the Fort's bunkers looked great as a background for Breanna.

Now is the time to start thinking about 2011 Senior Portrait . Give me a call today to set up an appointment. (360) 385-2662.

Visit Deja View Photography at Port Townsend Farmer's Market May 8

What a great grand opening last week was. Sales were the best ever for a opening day and over 1500 visiters attended the market on Saturday. We started in the rain but eventually the wind came up and brought the sun. Early on I was so cold and had so many layers on I needed help getting my rain coat off when the sun did came out.

For those that don't know the Port Townsend Farmer's Market now is on Facebook if you want to follow the most current updates/events for the market. The Farmer's Market now starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. with better parking including a 30 minute parking lot on Clay Street.

Last week it was wonderful to catch up with all my friends. I was so busy visiting and helping customers I never had a chance to sit down once. This week I'll have more Mother's Day cards and gifts for last minute shoppers. I'm also offering gift certificates for my Mother's Day Special portrait session to give to Mom to redeem at a later date. Stop by Deja View Photography's  vendor booth for all the details or give me a call today at (360) 385-2662. This week my booth will be located again across from the coffee wagon in the center aisle. Think sun!

Port Townsend Family Portrait

This was my second time to photograph Elaine and her family while visiting nearby Sequim. Her proud Grandparent's own Sequim Lavendar Company .  This family portrait was done in my Port Townsend studio. Since Elaine's family owns a farm the whole family decided to wear their favorite John Deere shirts and Elaine wore a cow outfit Grandpa had bought her. Check out those little ears.

In this second image Elaine is modeling her cute new dog outfit with one of the Sequim Lavendar Company's bandana's added as a colorful assessory. I look forward to seeing Elaine and her parents when they return to Washington this summer. It was a joy to photograph this handsome family.
