National Love Your Pet Day
It's National Love Your Pet Day and I'm blessed to have two sweet dogs in my life. Max is over 16 now and Sherman is 5. Max I adopted from our local shelter when he was just a puppy. He has been such a wonderful companion all these years. I adopted Sherman from the Port Townsend animal shelter last fall. He is 5 going on 2, he snores when sleeping, snorts when happy and is the most sociable dog I have ever owned. When walking if he sees someone a block away he gets all excited thinking they must stop to pet him and confirm how handsome he is. I just can't imagine not having a dog in my life. The boxer pictured below is Ruby who died in 2016. All wonderful shelter dogs. I have been very blessed.

Bring a New Friend Home Today
I'm so in love with the two young cats I photographed today at the shelter. Little Millie and Malcolm are about seven months old and the shelter would like to see them adopted together. They are so playful and loving and the shelter has asked potential adopters that they consider them to be inside only cats. If I wasn't allergic to cats or my dogs got along with cats these two would be with me on my couch tonight.
You can visit the shelter Tuesday-Sunday from 12-5 or call them at (360) 385-3292.

Thinking of Adopting a Shelter Cat of Dog? Contact the Humane Society of Jefferson County 360 385-3292
Since I took these photos for this weeks shelter poster Oakley was adopted on Tuesday. Lily is a playful young lady of two, while LB is a sweet, senior lab mix. I love the detail in the borders of handsome Alfie's ears and the puffy cheeks that long haired Nolan has who is about two years old. I got to spend some time with Arrow the other day after I had finished taking photos. He is a sweet, shy boy deserving of new home.
You can visit the shelter Tuesday-Sunday from 12-5 or call the Humane Society of Jefferson County at 360 385-3292.

Jethro-Handsome Bloodhound Seeks New Home
Hi, my name is Jethro! I am approximately 3 years old. I came to the shelter after I was found wandering the streets. I am a big, friendly, strong boy.
I am a bloodhound, and am seeking a home with hound experience. I have hunting instincts, so would do best in a home with no cats or small animals. I will need a fence since I will follow my nose straight off your property. I am micro-chipped and ready to go home.
I only weigh about 65 lbs. currently and will have some weight to gain in my new home. Shelter staff guesses my weight should be closer to 80 lbs.
The shelter staff will be taking applications for me to find me a great forever home! They are happy to work with out of county/area potential adopters. If you are interested in me, call the shelter at 360-385-3292 or stop by to view me and for an application Tuesday-Sunday from 12-5.
