Gray Weather Doesn't Dampen Engagement Session at Fort Worden
Despite gray skies and a little rain I had a wonderful time photographing Melissa and Matthew's engagement session at Fort Worden on Saturday. The weather certainly didn't dampen the spirits of this handsome young couple. Melissa brought magazine images of several poses she liked and Matthew was very patient with my requests for, "just one more photo". We walked the beach for a bit then brought the dogs from the car for a couple family photos and then drove to the nearest bunkers for some more images. Afterwards we met at the Bayview for coffee and discussed the details of their May wedding at the Farm Kitchen near Poulsbo. I enjoyed learning about all the details of the wedding and hearing the story on how they first met. I actually photographed both Melissa and Matthew last year when they needed professional photos for their work. We also talked about their families and how important their faith is in their life's. I can't wait to photograph their wedding and I'm honored they have picked me as their photographer.

PT Leader High School Senior Spotlight Features Cali Kopczick
I was really excited to open the Port Townsend Leader on Wednesday and read about Chimacum High School Senior Cali Kopczick. Cali was highlighted in this weeks Leader feature titled High School Senior Spotlight. I had the opportunity to met Cali last year when I photographed her Senior Portrait out at Fort Worden here in Port Townsend. Cali is hoping to attend either the University of Washington or Yale in the fall. I was very impressed to read in the article that Cali has maintained a 4.0 average throughout her years in high school. I look forward to keeping in touch with Cali and her family as she moves on to college.
Port Townsend Engagement Session
I'm really excited about meeting with Melissa and Matthew this weekend to photograph their engagement session. One of Melissa's favorite spots in Port Townsend is Fort Worden so with a bit of a good weather it should be the perfect location to photograph this handsome young couple.
I will be photographing their wedding in May at the Farm Kitchen located near Poulsbo, Washington. The organic farm is located on an 18 acres with old growth cedar trees, fruit orchards and spacious gardens. Last month I met with Melissa and her family at the Farm Kitchen to discuss the wedding. We all met for the a hearty breakfast which is held the1st Saturday of every month at the farm. It was wonderful to met Melissa's extended family including her sister-in-law, Deanna who owns Twig and Vine Designs and will be creating all the flower arrangements and bouquets for the wedding. Deanna has created a lovely inspiration board with all of Melissa's favorite flowers and colors that will used as part of the wedding. The wedding ceremony will be held in the apple orchard at the Farm Kitchen. Look for a post this weekend with images from their session.

Lazy Sunday for a Cat Nap
I stopped by a friend's home yesterday after volunteering at the JCA Shelter. It was a rainy gray day, perfect for a cat nap. Several of her cats were indeed napping but decided to come out to play and pose for me.

Animals Available for Adoption at Jefferson County Animal Shelter 4-4
This week when I arrived at the Jefferson Animal Shelter to photography animals available for adoption I found we had had 7 animals adopted. I'm always amazed at the number of adoptions we have considering Port Townsend is such a small community. Thanks to all the wonderful families that adopted from the shelter this week and gave one of our animals a new home.
