I was thrilled when contacted by Michelle, from Windermere Real Estate, and asked to photograph the agents in her office. The Leader ran this full page ad in the Wednesday paper last week. It featured all the agents photos and a detailed list of all the ways the local office and agents gave back to the community in 2018. I really enjoyed the opportunity to work with and photograph everyone and learn about each of their unique backgrounds and expertise. While I'm incredibly proud of all the images I can't take credit for the photo taken of Chuck. Thank you Michelle.

Port Townsend Farmers Market

While the Port Townsend Farmers Market doesn't start again until April I just ran across a couple photo from a previous market. I love taking candid images while at the market and hope to get more this upcoming season.

I have been on a major cleaning jag recently. In the process I have been going through old cards and notes I have saved over the years. This one is from a student when I taught at New Suncook School in Lowell, Maine. I was so blessed to have had so many wonderful children in my classes over the years. This made me smile.

Humane Society of Jefferson County adopts 340 animals in 2019.

The shelter has just tallied up the number of adoptions for 2019 and it looks like 340 cats and dogs were adopted. This is pretty amazing for our small town shelter here in Port Townsend. The male barn cat looks unhappy. He really needs to find a home where he can keep to himself and chase mice all day. Jessie and Scraps have been a the shelter for awhile and really deserve to get out of the shelter to their forever homes. Sea Marine in Port Townsend

I have had the pleasure of working with the owners and staff of Sea Marine three times recently. Once to update their photos for their website and their booth at the Seattle Boat Show. Then last year I did their Christmas card and again this year. I had no idea the variety of services Sea Marine offers as a full service boat yard. Chris and Sandy Bakken own the business and have 13 full time employees. Chris overseas the boat yard and Sandy is the boat broker. Everyone was great to work with to get candids of employees at work and the group photos especially this year with their son Andrew's dog patiently wearing alters for the Christmas photo. A simpler time when all I really wanted for Christmas was a bike light. Wait after looking closer it looks like I wanted my two front teeth too. Wait it almost looks like I'm missing 4 front teeth. Perhaps a bicycle accident thus the light with maybe a horn was the perfect present. I see Candyland in the background. Always interested in food I loved playing Candyland as a kid.

Classic Blue Pantone 2020 Color of the Year

Pantone has picked their 2020 color of the year. With their pick of Classic Blue you will see it influencing fashion and almost everything to do with weddings from bridesmaids dresses to floral arrangements. Their explanation in picking this color is very interesting. Classic Blue is calm, confident, and, well, classic color “suggestive of the sky at dusk.” Explaining the reasoning behind the pick in a press release, Pantone revealed the color’s timelessness, elegance and simplicity were the main determining factors. According to Pantone, Classic Blue symbolizes “protection, stability, peace, and confidence” and “encourages deep thinking, open mindfulness, and communication.” Boy we could use some of that right now in the world, go Classic Blue. Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Enjoy Port Townsend New Publication

The Jefferson County Chamber from here in Port Townsend along with Enjoy Port Townsend asked to use one of my, Deja View Photography images for their upcoming 2020 publication. This image was taken one beautiful fall morning during the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival. I'm standing on a dock at Point Hudson looking towards, at this time, the new Northwest Maritime Center. The early morning light was incredible as was the lack of wind since often during the festival it can be fairly windy during the September festival especially in the evening. 

Today needs a lighter moment...

Veterans Day

Went to the Veterans Day Program today at the American Legion. The Port Townsend Summer Band played patriotic through out the ceremony. The amazing women who are part of the Quilts of Valor presented about 20 beautiful handmade quilts to local Vets. It was a very nice program and seeing Veterans receiving their quilts made for a very special part of the program. Couldn't help but think of my Dad today. He was a member of the American Legion for 69 years so I'm sure he was missed at the Delavan Legion back in Southern Wisconsin today. As I looked around the packed room at our legion program I realized I could never imagine what the men and women & families in that room have experienced or sacrificed. I have tried to attend every Memorial Day or Veterans Day for the last 17 years honoring the memory of my boyfriend Don, who served in the Navy during Vietnam & always thought of my Dad's service. Today I realized how many Veterans were not part of the program as many have passed over the years. As one of the 99% that has not served in the military I'm grateful for the 1% who have. Thinking of my Dad who instilled a strong sense of patriotism & love of country in me. Miss you Dad. 

Looking for Love in Port Townsend

Life has been a bit crazy lately and haven't shared much on FB including the shelter posters. This week lots of great dogs and cats looking for their forever homes at the shelter. Good thing I already have two dogs, I wish I could bring them all home.

Girls' Night Out in Port Townsend

After the downpour on Thursday I ran around downtown catching photos of friends and other participants at Girls' Night Out. It was funny I captured two groups of friends in front of the same shop last year.

Port Townsend Big Dog Parade

Sunrise Coffee's BIG DOG parade down Water Street with a police escort went well. Dogs in the police car, dogs behind the Big Dog with their people on leashes. The air went out of the wheels near the Tides Inn, so the Port sent a forklift and carried it the rest of the way to the Haller Fountain. Then, all the retrievers, who had been in the parade, jumped in the fountain. A good time was had by all. Max Grover, artist and Cynthia Sears with "Blazer." Port Townsend loves a parade. 

National Farmers Month Celebrated at the Chimacum Farmers Market

2018 Business Leader of the Year

A belated happy birthday wish to Hans Frederickson. I didn't get a chance to share these photos yesterday nor back in May when Hans was honored by The Chamber of Jefferson County. Hans was named 2018 Business Leader of the Year. His wife Mia and Dad were also at the Chamber luncheon. Erik won Citizen of the Year in 2003. I have been fortunate to photograph Han's brother Martin's wedding a couple years ago and several sessions with the entire Frederickson family.

Last Concert on the Dock

Where has the summer gone? Tonight is the last Concert on the Dock with Kevin Mason  and the PT All-Stars with special guest Christa Holbrook. This band is great & Kevin Mason puts on a great show. I have gotten some great shots of the band over the last couple of years.
